Milk River Badlands
This desolate, beautiful place
was about a mile from my
home for one
special
year. Several times I found perfect
shiny sharks'
teeth lying on the ground.
They looked new, but
dated back to a time
when a vast inland sea covered
the region. Later, a river ran through
here, then the
ice age's massive
glaciers nudged that big river a hundred miles to the south. The
Milk
River now
meanders through the
original bed of the Missouri River.
